Megabites Fitness ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal and health information collected through our mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and secure your data, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and Identifier Data

When you sign up using Google, Apple, or email and password authentication, we collect your email address to create and manage your account. Within our analytics and diagnostics tools you are identified only by a random account identifier — never by your name or email address.

2.2 Health and Fitness Data

With your explicit permission, we integrate with Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), and with fitness services you choose to connect such as Fitbit or Samsung Health, to import your step counts. You may also manually enter additional wellness data, including:

• Calories consumed
• Height
• Weight

Your health and fitness data is used only to provide the App's features. It is not included in the usage analytics or session recordings described below.

2.3 Usage, Diagnostics, and Session Replay Data

To understand how the App is used and to find and fix problems, we collect:

• Usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics): screens visited, buttons tapped, features used, app version, and device information.
• Crash and error reports (Google Firebase Crashlytics): crash logs, diagnostic information, and the state of the App when an error occurred.
• Session replay (Microsoft Clarity): visual recordings of app sessions, tap locations, and interaction heatmaps. Recordings mask sensitive content — your sign-in credentials, body measurements, health and activity data, and precise location are not captured. • Advertising measurement (Meta): app install and purchase events used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. On iOS this occurs only if you allow tracking through the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Authentication & Personalization: Use your email to authenticate you and personalize your experience.
• Communications: Send important updates, security alerts, and (if you opt in) marketing communications. You may unsubscribe at any time.
• Fitness Insights: Provide personalized progress tracking, goal recommendations, and dashboards.
• Analytics & Diagnostics: Understand feature usage, diagnose crashes and errors, and review recorded sessions to improve app quality and usability.
• Advertising Measurement: Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns (subject to your consent where required).

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal or health data. We may share your information only with:

• Service Providers: Vendors who process data on our behalf to run the App, under their respective data-protection terms:
  • Google Firebase — authentication, database, usage analytics, and crash reporting
  • Microsoft Clarity — session replay and interaction heatmaps
  • RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management (we never see or store your payment card details; payments are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play)
  • Meta — advertising measurement (with your consent on iOS)
  • Better Stack — operational error logging
• Legal Authorities: Government or law enforcement if required by law or court order.
• Health Data Breach: Authorities and affected users in compliance with U.S. Health Breach Notification Rule.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal identifiers unless legal obligations require otherwise.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard measures—including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits—to protect your data. No system is completely secure; please contact us immediately if you suspect any breach.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
• Correct: Update or amend inaccurate information.
• Delete: Request erasure of your data.
• Portability: Obtain a machine-readable copy of your data.

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we learn of such data, we will delete it promptly to comply with COPPA.
